Frank J. Avella is a proud Senior Staff Writer for The Contending and member of NYFCO and GALECA (studio liaison). He also contributes to EDGE.

When he isn’t immersed in film/TV/theater, he’s writing plays and/or screenplays. His produced stage work includes, VATICAN FALLS, LURED, IRIS, MICHAEL’S #1 FAN and UNHINGING. He’s currently working on an epic play about the queer Italian-American experience, FROCI/FINOCCHIO, told in 2 parts. His award-winning screenplays include CONSENT, LURED and FIG JAM, which was made into a short film in 2021. Frank is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
